Long drives can make anyone sleepy, and Nala has clearly decided there is no reason to fight it. The senior Golden Retriever is riding along with her human, Chris, on a cross-country road trip, catching up on sleep from the back seat while keeping one very important thing nearby: Dad.
The video shared by @adventuringwithnala shows Nala resting her chin on the seat’s snoot rest, eyes closed as the miles roll by. She has been on plenty of adventures with Chris over the years, but this time, the sweetest part of the trip is simply having a comfortable place to rest her head.

In the video, Nala looks completely settled in the back seat, with her chin resting neatly on the little cushion attached to the front seat. She is so comfortable that her head slowly slides down, prompting Chris to tilt the camera toward her and smile. For a second, Nala wakes up and notices the camera. Her eyes open a little wider, as if she has just realized there is an audience, before the sleepy look returns almost immediately.
In the last shot, Chris reclines the front seat and stretches his arm out so Nala can rest her chin on his hand. She settles right back down, looking perfectly content to keep sleeping with Dad within reach. The clip has already earned more than 57,000 likes, and viewers clearly smitten by Nala’s sleepiness. One joked, “Father, get dat arm on position, now.”
For a senior Golden Retriever, comfort can matter just as much as the destination. Nala may have traveled plenty of miles before, but she still seems to appreciate the same familiar routine: a long road trip, a good nap, and a little physical closeness with her favorite person.
An admirer joked that Nala needs a “chin hammock,” while someone else pointed out how they have slowly seen her turn into a platinum retriever. For now, Nala is happy taking a nap, golden or platinum.
