She has “separation anxiety,” and according to her caregiver, she cannot safely stay in a regular kennel. As a result, she is being kept in a small stainless-steel kennel. Sophie had found a temporary foster home, but she has now been returned to the shelter, back behind the kennel bars that feel so overwhelming to her.

This shelter dog found a temporary foster home, but she was soon returned to her tiny kennel because she couldn’t find her forever family in time. The clip, shared by @savingsageanimalrescue on Instagram, features a mixed-breed pup named Sophie. Her caregiver shared that she has severe separation anxiety, and medication hasn’t helped her much.
Sophie is extremely sweet and calm. She loves spending time with her favorite humans, cuddling with them, and lying close to their feet. However, she panics and can hurt herself when left alone. Since she is vulnerable and cannot safely stay in regular kennels, she is kept in a small stainless-steel one.
Whenever she goes out for a walk or caregivers spend time with her, she feels relaxed and happy. However, returning to the kennel is deeply overwhelming for her. All she wants is to get out and live with a family that will love her forever. In a previous post, the caregiver shared that Sophie had been staying in a temporary foster home and was doing great.
However, now that she is back in her tiny kennel, she is left heartbroken. She needs someone who will be patient with her, look past her vulnerability, and see her for the beautiful and loving dog she is.
