This rescue dog first hesitated when it was time to greet her human, but then she took a step forward, showing she was willing to try. For rescued dogs, healing doesn’t always happen overnight. It takes time for them to fully trust their new families, and once they do, there is no looking back. Sometimes, they take one cautious step backward before finding the courage to move forward again. That is exactly what makes this Jindo rescue dog’s morning routine so heartwarming.

This rescue dog hesitated when it was time to greet her human friend, but then showed that she was willing to take a step forward in their growing friendship. The clip, shared by @kaiagrrrl on Instagram, features a Jindo named Kaia. The page documents Kaia’s change from being a shy rescue dog to slowly learning to trust her family. In an earlier video, the paw parents shared that Kaia used to avoid them whenever they got too close. Now, however, she stays near them to receive love and affection before settling down for bedtime.

The latest clip captures another milestone in Kaia’s journey. It shows her walking out of a room alongside one of her furry siblings. As her owner takes a step towards her, Kaia instinctively steps back, appearing hesitant to greet them. However, her fear quickly fades, and she slowly walks forward before gently sniffing her owner’s hand. It is a small moment, but one that marks significant progress in the life of a rescue dog.

The owner shared that Kaia is still scared of most people, but recently chose to sleep in her auntie’s room, showing how much her confidence has grown. Describing her personality, the owner affectionately wrote that Kaia is “a dog’s dog, and secondly, a girl’s girl.” Viewers, too, found the video touching, with many commenting that this is a great first step in building an everlasting bond.
