Most hiking trips start with backpacks and supplies. This one started with making sure Pita could come too. A recent video from @radley_barkley shows exactly who ended up getting the best seat on the hike. Pita, a three-legged rescue dog, now spends his days tagging along on outdoor adventures after his adoption into a “hiking family.” Best of all, his mom found a simple way to make sure he can come along too.

Rescue dog’s family proves he never has to worry about being left behind after adoption

The clip opens with the cute pup resting his chin on a backseat car cover before the big adventure. With his head propped on the divider, he seems perfectly content while on the drive. Once they are at the starting point, his mom carefully helps him slide into a specialized backpack carrier. Before heading out, she makes a few small adjustments and gives the carrier a quick once-over.

Pita sits quietly while his mom lifts the backpack and chats to him the whole time. Next thing you know, they’re already out on the trail. A fun selfie video shows mom marching up the path while Pita rides happily on her back. His eyes never seem to stop moving as he watches the world go by from his backpack perch.

Another shot from further down the trail reveals his sibling, Radley, the Pitbull mix, walking nicely on a leash nearby. Pita rides with his paws resting on his mom’s shoulders, looking very pleased with the arrangement. At that point, the text changes to “This Is My Why,” a trend that’s been making the rounds online. People usually use the trend to share something that means a lot to them.

And this is how this cute tripod rescue dog never misses an outing with his family since his official adoption. The video picked up more than 2.7K likes in its first 13 hours online. Plenty of viewers focused on the backpack and how thoughtfully the family included Pita. One commenter couldn’t get over how “happy” Pita looked out on the trail
