Spending a few minutes scrolling through social media dog tricks can actually save a life when you least expect it. A routine evening walk in Brisbane turned into an unbelievable rescue mission because of those exact online tips. Queensland woman Tamika Nash-Hahn was walking her one-year-old Golden Retriever, Arlo, when the clever pup used his scent training to locate a severely injured dog hiding in the dark. According to the report by 7 News, she had used Instagram to teach him basic tracking games at home, and those fun exercises quickly became the ultimate lifesaver here.

Tamika initially thought the red marks on the pavement were just from a wild rabbit. But the trail completely vanished near a bridge. That is when Arlo snapped into gear and began frantically sniffing a specific patch of grass. Tamika gave him his search command. And the pup dragged her backward along a hidden trail she completely missed. Tamika told 7 News, “I noticed him stop, and he looked at me, he looked back, and looked at me again.”

She rounded the corner and found a terrified Staffordshire Bull Terrier cowering by a roadside fence. The poor pup was bleeding and shaking. Tamika quickly checked a local Facebook group and found a missing post for a dog named Murphy.

It turned out Murphy had been hit by a car three kilometers away. His owners were completely devastated and thought he was gone. But this incredible Golden Retriever managed to track down the injured dog right before it was too late.

Arlo’s training started as simple backyard games like finding hidden lemons. But a canine’s nose is more sensitive than a human’s, and that’s what really worked in this rescue. Tamika recently posted a cute video on the Retriever Instagram page, in which he was watching his own televised report on TV. Murphy’s owners even commented on the post to thank them, writing that he made a full recovery after a couple of scratched-up paws.
