With German Shepherds as pets, it is a general notion that they might be good with kids. However, this video paints a positive picture of their bonding with kids. The clip, which has garnered more than 10.6K likes at the time of writing, shows how this German Shepherd’s behaviour changed and how well the dog adjusted when the newborn joined the family.

German Shepherd is so, so gentle with the baby

German Shepherds are generally considered protective and loyal family dogs. Moreover, if properly trained, this breed can form a great bond with kids, and this is what this pet parent has captured on camera. The video uploaded on @enoch_the_gsd shows how a German Shepherd changed into a gentle pup when a baby joined the family.

Enoch is seen playing with the dog dad in the beginning of the video, which then shows his bond with a child. The once high-energy pooch is seen lying peacefully next to the child and looking at him as he plays with Enoch. Not even once does the big dog bark or growl or show any type of disconnect with the baby or the toddler. The pooch simply enjoys the company of the child.

Looking at their bonding, the pet parent assured others that “If you’re worried about how your shepherd will adjust to a baby… they’ll be just fine.” Even Enoch took credit for being a good companion, saying, “Not every shepherd is a natural like me.”

The parent further shared a heartfelt message for their furry pal, writing in the caption, “Enoch is instinctively so gentle with our it has been the sweetest to watch their friendship grow. Our child may think he is a dog because his best friend is a dog… but he also has the best protector out there!”

And it seems netizens could not agree more, as one person said, “German shepherds love children.” Another also mentioned that they will be “Friends FOREVER!!!” Some of the paw parents even shared similar experiences, with one saying, “My kids were raised by their GSDs. Wouldn’t have it any other way!”
