You wouldn’t be wrong to think a day at the ocean is the ultimate prize for a pup. But Brooklyn has very specific ideas about when the party is officially over. He is a beautiful Golden Retriever rescue living the good life over at @stanleyandbrooklyn. In this new video, the dog is at the beach, but he isn’t interested in one more wave.
It’s all fun until it isn’t. And when that switch flips, the dog doesn’t wait around for anyone else to agree. He just decides. Beach time is over. Car time now.
Video shows dog returns to the car at the beach to head back home for dinner
When the video opens, we see Brooklyn moving with total purpose. He is wrapped in his towel robe like a little burrito and is heading for the open door of the car. This breed usually loves the water, but even he has a limit. All that splashing in the waves has clearly drained his battery, because he props his front paws up on the ledge. However, hoisting his back legs up is a bit of a struggle. It’s actually pretty funny to watch. Eventually, he manages to haul himself inside and finds his spot on the protected seat.
Once he’s in, it’s over. He doesn’t look like he is going to move a muscle. The car has a special cover for all that sand, and he just rests his chin on the backrest. But then notices the camera and lifts his head to look straight at it.
The on-screen text from his POV says he wants to go home and have his dinner now. Beach days can be tiring, and once you’re done, you’re completely done. Perhaps that is why one viewer commented that he’s their spirit animal. Another person loved his “beach robe.” He sits there like a king, waiting for his driver, and looks adorable with the towel around his face.
He really isn’t going back to the water. Over 700 people liked seeing this side of him, as of the time of writing. One fan said they also feel like a nap after the beach. His owner says you don’t mess with Brooklyn’s routine, beach day or not.
